Planking. Why are WE so upset?
Many African Americans/Blacks are upset about planking. Their argument is this
“Slaves were chained & attached to plank beds. They were forced to lay face down w/ their arms by their side & their wrist chained to their waist. Some were even stacked on top of each other with no room to move. Not many of the slaves survived, many dying from dehydration & disease.”
Slaves slept on plank beds. Wooden boards. It was never called “planking”. That’s neo-psych propaganda.
Slaves were treated as property not royalty. They did not have plush bedding, five star meals, water and a medical unit.
Now because people are planking they are deemed racist and a follower and uneducated.
Why must WE always have to relate things back to slavery? I’m tired of our people pulling the race card.
Black people please do not do the following things because it is a form of slavery:
1. Don’t call your car a “whip”. That’s from slavery.
2. Don’t wear jewelry. It’s symbolic of chains. That’s from slavery.
3. Don’t go on cruises. They transported slaves on boats.
4. Black Parents: Don’t let your kids walk in a single file line. That’s from slavery.
5. Don’t eat pancakes because that is what the slave masters fed the slaves.
6. Don’t wear any clothes that has cotton in them. Slaves picked cotton.
7. Don’t use the word hanging.
8. Don’t own a dog because dogs were used to chase runaway slaves.
9. Do not partake in Yoga. There is a position called planking.
10. You know what? Everything you do and and say, Its a form of slavery.
We are sitting here arguing about the racism of a game. What would should be worried about is what’s going on in the news today. Obesity is rising in our children, homelessness, public school systems and education, the terrible job market for college grads, our school budgets are being cut back and people are losing their jobs, healthcare, I can go on and on. No one wants to protest and stand up for these things or even educate themselves about it. In the meantime, while people continue to argue about this, I am going to continue on with my life. At the end of the day, this is not going to get me my 40 acres and a mule.
